Hannah Waddingham wows Eurovision viewers again with fluent French: ‘I could listen to you do that all night’

Hannah Waddingham impressed fans once again at the second Eurovision semi-final on Thursday (11 May).

During the first semi-final on Tuesday (9 May), the Ted Lasso star blew viewers away with her “unreal” singing voice.

In Thursday’s broadcast, the actor showed off her language skills by reading out the competition’s voting rules in fluent French.

Once the cheers from the crowd had subsided, Waddingham’s co-host Alesha Dixon said: “Honestly Hannah I could listen to you do that all night.”

“My French teacher would be so proud!” Waddingham responded.

Eurovision viewers quickly took to Twitter to praise the star.

“Hannah Waddingham speaking in French is my religion,” one enthusiastic fan tweeted.

“Hannah Waddingham speaking french will be my downfall in society,” wrote another.

“I want Hannah Waddingham to shout at me in French 24/7,” begged a third.

The second semi-final saw Romania, Denmark, Georgia, Iceland, San Marino and Greece eliminated from the competition.

Albania, Cyprus, Estonia, Belgium, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Australia, Armenia and Slovenia were the 10 nations to progress to the Grand Final, which takes place on Saturday (13 May).

They will join the other 10 semi-final winners (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Israel, Serbia, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland, Moldova and Czechia), the Big Five countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK), which progressed automatically, and last year’s winners, Ukraine.
