Best Apple deals in the January sales 2024, from AirPods to AirTags
Upgrade your tech for less with these stellar savings
As the champagne corks popped to signal the start of 2024, the bangs also marked the beginning of one of the best periods of the year to bag a bargain – we’re talking about the January sales, of course.
Usually an upgrade on the Boxing Day sales, the January sales see discounts on Apple’s best tech, including iPhones, the AirPods Pro, Apple Watches, MacBooks, iPads and more. As well as shopping with Apple directly, you’ll be able to score deals at retailers such as Amazon and Argos.
But that’s not all – home appliance deals on air fryers and dehumidifiers are available, as well as discounts on fashion and jewellery, and savings on TVs and laptops.
As Apple rarely reduces their products, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start finding the deals. We’re here to help, with this round-up of all the best Apple deals to shop in the January sales.

iPhone 14 with 300GB data: £38 per month, Fonehouse.co.uk
Fonehouse is offering the iPhone 14 with triple the usual data allowance for just £38 per month for 24 months with no upfront fee. The phone usually costs £699 SIM-free, which means this contract has you effectively paying around £9 per month for 300GB of 5G data with Three. That’s the cheapest iPhone 14 plan we’ve seen. In their iPhone 14 review, our tester wrote: “While the design has hardly changed, the iPhone 14’s internal upgrades are pretty extraordinary.”
iPhone 15 with 400GB data: £42 per month, Affordablemobiles.co.uk
Here’s a great deal on the new iPhone 15 at Affordable Mobiles. Pay £42 per month on a 24-month contract and you’ll get a boosted 5G data allowance with Vodafone. The total contract cost (not including the usual mid-contract price increase) is £1,008 on a £799 phone, meaning you’re effectively paying £8.70 per month for 400GB of 5G data.
iPad Pro 12.9in, 256GB: Was £1,369, now £1,299, Currys.co.uk
You can find cheaper iPads than the top-end Pro model, but if you’re after a high-performance tablet that could feasibly replace your laptop, look no further than this 12.9in beast. Currys is offering £70 off the 256GB model in the January sales.
Beats Studio Pro wireless headphones: Was £349.99, now £279, Amazon.co.uk
Apple sub-brand Beats are a cheaper alternative to the AirPods Max (£499, Amazon.co.uk). In our Beats Studio Pro review our tester considered them “just about better [than the AirPods Max] in terms of sound” and praised the headphones’ lossless audio when connected to the iPhone with USB-C.
Apple MacBook Air M1, 2020, 256GB SSD: Was £949, now £849, Very.co.uk
Although it’s a few years old now, the MacBook air M1 is still being sold, and Very has sliced off a handy £100. This model of MacBook Air previously featured in our round-up of the best laptops. Our tester said: “The MacBook air is remarkably lightweight and slim, an effect made more appealing thanks to a tapering design – at its thinnest point, it’s 0.41cm thick. But the new version is the first to use Apple’s own silicon instead of an Intel processor. The M1 chip is breathtakingly fast.”
Apple MacBook Pro (16in, M3 Pro, 2023): Was £2,599, now £2,350, Ao.com
Here’s a £249 saving on the new 16in MacBook Pro, which launched in November and is powered by Apple’s latest processor. This is the entry-level 16in model running on the M3 Pro chip – a step above the 14in MacBook Pro’s M3 and below the very top-end M3 Max. In our MacBook Pro M3 review, our tester noted that the “high price still represents strong value, given the stupendous power of the M3 Pro or M3 Max”.
Apple AirTag, pack of four: Was £119, now £95, Amazon.co.uk
We hadn’t seen a pack of four AirTags drop this low in price since March (until Black Friday rolled around). If, like us, you have a tendency to lose your belongings, this £24 saving is still live. The neat thing about the AirTag is that, when you’re close enough, you can get real-time turn-by-turn directions to your item. “Precision tracking works wonderfully well when you can get a signal, and the fact it’s powered by removable batteries is a real bonus,” our writer said in their review. “There are just so many devices connected to the Find My network that you’ll always be able to locate your AirTag if it goes AWOL.”
Apple Watch Ultra: Was £699, now £649, Amazon.co.uk
Amazon has slashed the price of the original premium smartwatch by a huge £50. Featuring double the battery life of other Apple Watches, and a bigger screen, it was the first to be available in only titanium and with cellular connectivity. Now, you can save on the price at Amazon.
Apple iPad, 2021, 10.2in: Was £369, now £319, Very.co.uk
The cheapest iPad you’ll find is the 10.2in model, which launched in 2021. The ninth-generation iPad is a fast and powerful tablet with a great screen and full-sounding stereo speakers. It works with the Apple pencil and the smart keyboard, too, unlocking extra functionality for anyone who wants to stay productive while on the move. it’s discounted by £50 at Very ahead of the January sales.
Apple iPad, 10th gen, 2022: Was £499, now £449, Amazon.co.uk
With more than £50 off, the 2022 iPad is almost as cheap as it was on Black Friday. “The new design, faster processor, better and bigger display are easily worth the price, and the new iPad is a real rival to the iPad Air, which costs £170 more,” our writer said in their review.
Apple iPhone 14, 128GB: Was £699, now £649, Very.co.uk
It might not be the newest iPhone in the range, but the iPhone 14 is still a powerful smartphone with some big internal upgrades over its predecessor. “This is a fast and attractive smartphone, with Apple’s excellent design and build quality, the now-routine features, such as water resistance and strong screen, and a significantly improved camera,” our writer said in their review of the handset. While Very says you can save £115 on the device, it’s more like £50, given the 14 has had a price cut. Still, that’s a pretty sweet discount.
Apple AirPods, 3rd gen (2021) with magsafe charging case: Was £189, now £179, Very.co.uk
Listen up, because Apple’s 3rd gen AirPods currently have a tempting tenner off. While this is a modest saving, it’s still a deal worth noting, as Apple discounts can be few and far between. Plus, they come with a six-month free subscription to Apple Music. Our reviewer said the AirPods ensure “vocals are crisp and well-defined” and “music really comes alive with spatial audio”.
We’ve spotted a £10 saving on the 2nd gen version (was £139, now £129, Very.co.uk), too.
Apple Watch Series 8 GPS: Was £469, now £329, Johnlewis.com
This Apple Watch has been reduced by a generous £140 at John Lewis. The watch itself comes highly rated by The Independent’s tech critic David Phelan, who was impressed by how sleek the smartwatch looks and by how easy it is to use. Perfect for tracking exercise, making calls, getting directions and, of course, telling the time.
Does Apple have a January sale?
The Apple Store is absolutely allergic to sales. Even when every other retailer is discounting its gadgets in January, you won’t find any deals on Apple gear from the Apple Store. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get some savings on AirPods or a new iPhone at a third-party retailer. Amazon, Argos, Currys and more always have discounts on Apple tech during big-ticket sales events.
